Local Community Groups Supports

The SICAP Community Development Team provides practical support, guidance, capacity building, and developmental supports to help communities grow, connect and respond to local needs.

We can support your group to...

1.  Set up a local community group or network:

• Starting off....
• Developing a group constitution and governance structures
• Supporting committee formation and election of officers
• Opening a bank account
• Taking out an insurance policy
• Developing your annual support plan
• Registration with relevant and local networks and agencies such as Waterford PPN (Public Participation Network)
• Applying for Charitable Status
• Linking with other like-minded organisations, structures or networks.

We support community groups to identify common goals and find ways to work together. By bringing people together, supporting collaboration and helping build local connections, we strengthen communities and create networks that can eventually operate on their own without ongoing support.

2. To engage with your community:

For example, we will support you to undertake; community consultations, surveys and outreach processes, leafleting and awareness campaigns, open meetings, activities that encourage participation and inclusion such as Family Fun Days & Health & Wellbeing Events.
